DESPERATE AND DONNA

Since watching the dreadful DiscoMania on Saturday night before going out to get sloshed I have become reacquainted (did she ever leave?) with Donna Summer, I bought her Anthology years ago on CD and then the 12" mixes of her classics and then her VH1 Live and More Encore CD. It's been doing some heavy rotation on my CD player and I have to say there's nothing like waking up to Macarthur Park in the mornings - Donna can belt out a track like nobody's business as was shown as she was the only one who sang live on DiscoMania. I decided a few years ago that at my funeral I want her 12 incher of "Last Dance" to be played and I stand by that decision. A rare disco gem that always gets my feet tapping and bringing out my inner diva! Not that that takes much. Donna may resemble a truck driver in drag these days but that's not actually a bad thing considering her lungs are about as big as my friend Julia's tits ie - pretty big.

I'm also excited about a new TV show that I'll probably never get to see. Desperate Housewives on ABC in America follows some chick who tops herself and views her friends lives. The show has Marcia Cross (Melrose Place's psycho Kimberly Shaw) playing the porn named Bree Van De Kamp and even more fabulous Teri Hatcher. Teri is most remembered as Lois from Lois and Clark but for me she'll always be Ariel Maloney who played Dr Monica de Monaco on The Sun Also Sets in the fab film Soapdish. Looking good Teri! The character who kills herself was to be played by Sheryl Lee who was dead Laura Palmer but apparently she's bombed out. Sounds Fabulous!
