ARMY FATIGUE JUMPSUITS

One of my favourite TV shows as a kid was the ultra glamorous 'Dempsey and Makepeace' This was the show with Glynis Barber as Harriet 'Harry' Makepeace and Michael Brandon as James Dempsey. Dempsey was from New York and was paired off with Makepeace. The show tingled with sexual chemistry between the two and no wonder, they married off screen. I loved it and it was compulsive Saturday night viewing for me as a 6 year old.

I vaguely remember Harry getting shot, Suzi Quatro hanging from a building after stalking Dempsey and a lot of hair product for Glynis Barber. The TV theme was fabulous and dynamic aswell. Now you all may be thinking how butch I am for watching a cop show but this one was different and I remember every day after school, going in for butch Laura Black and playing Dempsey and Makepeace in the street. I made sure I was always Makepeace. Mmy excuse was because I was blond and Laura was dark haired and infinitely more manly than I. She even started a campaign to take part in the school football team - and won!! I meanwhile continued rolling about with her pretending to be glamorous Makepeace who had blonde hair, a fabulous tan and natty dress sense in army fatigue jumpsuits or tight leather jackets to show a feminine side!!
