SOUNDS LIKE DONALD DUCK

Sympathy and should've beens. That's what the Oscars seem to be about these days. Cate Blanchett was given a Supporting Actress award last night although she really should've won it in 1997 for her amazing performance in 'Elizabeth' instead of giving to whiny Gwyneth Paltrow who wore a god-awful dress. Renee Zellwegger was given her's for a blah performance in 'Cold Mountain' rather than for 'Chicago'. Hilary Swank is just a wank who I sooo don't get, she'll always be the goofy wannabe in Beverly Hills 90210 for me!

Even Bette Davis got hers for 'Dangerous' when really it was because she missed out the year before. Nicole Kidman should've won for Moulin Rouge but won for 'the Hours'. Liz Taylor won for 'Butterfield 8' because her hubby died and Joan Crawford got her's because she had been around in so many good movies beforehand. Recently, the only deserving winner from memory is Catherine Zeta Jones who knocked my socks off as Velma Kelly in Chicago. I was rooting for her but this year's was in a word - shite. Cate Blanchett looked fabulous in yellow and she has skin like a porcelain doll, alabaster from head to toe and cheekbones to die for. In saying that, so did Katharine Hepburn whom she portrayed in 'The Aviatior' Katherine however sounded more and more like Donald Duck in her movies whereas thankfully Cate's got that whole trans-continental accent going on which I love - Natalie Imbruglia's got it as does Kylie, they sound almost British - but not quite!
