HEXUM TIME

Well I went back to work today and it was manic to say the least - not even some cute members of the public made me calm - it was altogether crazy as the first day back after Xmas & New Year and so just to calm me down I thought it important to show a nice looking man.

He is Jon Erik Hexum - he was a TV star in the early 80s and romanced both Joan Collins and Emma Samms before hitting the semi big time with the tv show Cover Up. The theme tune to this was Bonnie Tyler's 'Holding Out For A Hero' and I always remember it being on just before Dynasty on a Friday night about 7pm with Dynasty at 8pm.

Jon Erik Hexum played Mac - a tough renegade who worked with photo journalist Danielle Reynolds played by Jennifer O'Neill and they fought crime and fell in lust on screen. Sadly Jon Erik played around with a gun on set that wasn't supposed to be loaded and shot himself. He was replaced with a rather blah actor and the show ran for another season but fizzled out - supposedly cursed. Thankfully for me, he managed to fit in shit loads of photo shoots with his top off and his hairy chest showing which is always a delight to see.

He was on a show called "Voyagers" as well...like, in 1982-83. A show about time travel, paradoxes, and history. I used to watch it, and one of my teachers would quiz us on it the next day and we'd discuss the show.

He was so fine. I was so sad when he died...as was my mom.

Gonna help you out: John was a genuinely unique, gifted, and kind person. He romanced men as well. His role in Voyager was the most important to my sis and I, that I believe instrumentally got her set on a course of higher education and life-long discovery. It was that kind of role, and he played the part with athority. I believe the gun, of his death, was not loaded with anything more than the standard blank cotton wad, which when hitting the temple at close range, can kill you instantly. His replacement in Cover-Up was also a talented and beautiful person, who equally had a early and tragic death. Respect all around.
