So New Year came and went - I scrubbed my house like Harriet Craig on smack and headed out to work in the Polo. It was hectic from the word go but I thoroughly enjoyed it all. I must say it was a tad hectic from the word go and I thought that if I got through that I could get through any shift - and I did!! The staff were all in a good mood as were the customers with only a few drunks falling off the wagon and being cheeky.
I was completely exhausted by 6am when I got home so just crashed out although Jon turned up about an hour later looking for a quiet bed. I woke up that morning to discover that he had swallowed the last of my painkillers - I had a splitting headache, possibly from some champagne - I don't think it was Moet or Cristal so probably caused the pain.
Dinner at the parentals was fab and I've spent the past few days on my ass eating and watching copious amounts of The West Wing. It's absolutely amazing and although the eye candy of Rob Lowe isn't there, the drama and superb acting more than compensate. I've been watching season 5 and even the worst episodes of this are better than most good episodes of any other drama. So after a few marathon's of life in The West Wing I'm due to move onto Nip/Tuck with the dishier than dishy Julian McMahon although the first few seasons of The West Wing with Rob Lowe and his chiselled jawline.
On top of Rob, there's the added attraction of Allison Janney as the unbelievably fabulous press secretary CJ Cregg and Stockard Channing aka Rizzo herself pops up occasionally as the first lady Abbey Bartlett - wife to President Martin Sheen's Jed Bartlett. He is the leader of the free world and the Democratic party are in the White House with a fiery and what I think is realistic although I've never been in the West Wing of the White House but it looks fabulous. I don't understand a lot of the government departments or terminology but the drama itself unfolds so brilliantly and with such smart writing and acting that it's like watching an Oscar winning movie every week - absolutely enthralling and more from The West Wing and Rizzo later.....
So we start another year of High Camp Caress Morell's shenanigans. I keep on thinking I will run out of things to write about be it Bette Davis, Joan Collins, Footballers Wives, Dynasty and Dallas but there's always another take or something crops up that is just campy and vampy and no more so than Caress Morell's casebook of camp and nonsense with a dash of filth and personal hi jinx thrown in for good measure......
