Was in Manchester at the weekend for a few days away with friends. We all wangled the time off, so Cam, Jon, David, Stewart and myself went down south to look at boys and drink ourselves silly - which we did - a lot - and then some more. The weather wasn't all that great but we turned into tough Northern birds and went out without our jackets at night even though you could cut an ice sculpture with my nipples.
Manchester is great fun for bar hopping as there are so many compared to Glasgow. The funny thing is, all the guys look the same as in Glasgow except there are more of them. I'm still convinced aswell that people in Manchester all want to be popstars. Even the chavs command attention and the accent can grate a bit as it sounds sort of cheap. People in London also want to be popstars but don't want to show they do so have that veiled interested aloof look whereas Mancunian's show their ass, straightened hair and titty tops and that's just the boys!
I have to say, I love going away for the weekend and Manchester is always fun and it was even more so because we were all away for the first time in ages. I also splashed on a rather fabulous Gucci chain to go with some jeans and a top I bought. Cam and Jon were pissing themselves because normally I'm as tight as a Jew at Hannukah spinning the dradle when it comes to parting with my pennies but I relented and had a rush of blood and went wild.
Nothing too eventful happened to me at all except dancing my ass off and chilling out having drinks people watching for a few days. As per usual I was a tough sick on Sunday morning after consuming stupid amounts of alcohol all weekend. However a quick stop and a milkshake helped me on my way. Speaking of which, on the journey David told me the funniest joke I've heard in a while that UK readers may understand... He was reading about Countdown in the paper on Sunday and turned to us in the car and said "I don't know why they pronounced Richard Whiteley dead when they could have pronounced him deceased for 8 letters"
Now I need to plan my next jaunt which should be London or Brighton in June/July. I think a stint in London during the summer will be just divine, especially if I get my shoulders ready and pick up a tough swaggering attitude and look just aloof enough!

I was on a train in England a few years ago when two loud idiots sitting in front of me where having an argument over which of the 2 was 'more chavy'. Needless to say, the guy with the Burberry hat and Adidas track suit won, much to his satisfaction
