HEART OF STONE

Stewart and I had out weekly jaunt out in town at the beginning of the week. It's become a habit that we'll tour the bars for a while and maybe take in a bite to eat. I had been hankering for a fix of trash and got it in spades when we decided to go to the pictures and watch Basic Instinct 2.

Sharon Stone reprises her role as vampy femme fatale Catherine Tramell who's fucked her way around America and now brought her tight box to London to write a new novel and cause carnal carnage. In the original, Sharon as Catherine seduced cop Michael Douglas who was sure she was tying people up with white scarfs and killing them with icepicks. My favourite line in the first movie was when she lit a cigarette whilst being interviewed by the police and told that she can't. "What are you gonna do? Charge me with smoking?!" Shazza was a devious bissum even then and flirted with bisexuality, uncrossed her legs to show she wasn't wearing even a feminax for the wind beneath her wings and said "fuck" a lot whilst becoming a huge star showing her beaver's house and behaving like a murderessing bitch!

Not much has changed since 1992 except Catherine Tramell has had some plastic surgery to stop the ageing process which would no doubt have included a cunt tightening and possibly her anal passage strengthened as she looks the type who'd indulge in backdoor after injecting her tits with adrenalin or morphine or both. So Catherine aka Shazza finds herself in the opening scene completely smashed off her boobs on cocaine or some drug whilst driving around London with a playboy footballer played by real life footballer Stan Collymore. He looks pretty out of it but manages to stick his hands up Catherine's fabulous dress whilst she drives, bringing her to a climax just as she veers off the road and straight in the Thames. Catherine escapes whilst said footballer with wet fingers dies. Catherine is then called before a psychologist who she then bewitches in a similar fashion to Michael Douglas' character in the first movie. Various people die and the psychologist begins to doubt all of his beliefs as Catherine confounds her critics. Basically, there's a modern twist at the end and I still don't know whether Sharon Stone's character is a murderer or just a kinky slut who gets her kicks out of pushing the sexual and devious envelope. I think she's probably both but it was great fun to see her in action.

A lot of reviews have slated the movie and I found it slightly cheesy - Catherine says similar things to what I would say which is also slightly worrying. When asked if she was upset that a man had died she replied "No. I was upset that I might never come again" Maybe I'm destined for a life of risk addiction like Catherine Tramell where I wear fabulous frocks and show policemen I'm not wearing any underwear. Hats off to her, she's almost 50 and looked fabulous with a lovely wardrobe and a great body and lets not forget that she can actually act - remember Casino?! It goes to show that there's more to her than what's between her legs. Money must have motivated her to do this but she got stuck in as one of the screen's most exciting and daring characters and I'm glad as it was a great way to spend a few hours and live in another world where Sharon Stone has sex a lot and says "fuck" even more than in the first movie and sashays along the screen, intoxicating all the men around her whilst looking particularly fabulous!
