TICKETS FOR THE WITCHES AND A HEARTHROB

Spent the past few days in a complete tizz - work has been wild and crazy busy. i've had a cold so spent the weekend in the flat and slept it off which definitely helped. I read a lot and finished Augusten Burrroughs book "Dry". All his novels are very quick witted and his take on his own life are both brilliant and tugging at my heart strings - I do believe I shed a tear during "Dry" which is his own story of his battle against alcoholism whilst being an uber talented advertising copy writer - like a gay verison of Alison Parker in Melrose Place without the mini skirts and evil landlord who has been replaced by crazy flatmates, crazier work partners called Greer (it is like Melrose Place) and more bottles of spirits than a well stocked beach bar!

I woke up on Sunday and went to get tickets for George Michael who's touring again in November. He hasn't toured for 15 years and thought it would be a blast - I'm sure my first gay stirrings were lusting after hairy George in the Wham! video for Freedom and shaking my tambourined against my slim hips when I was 6 pretending to be his boyfriend whilst having good old Pepsi and Shirlie as our backup bitches. Well the long and short of it is that I couldn't get tickets for Glasgow as they sold out within half an hour of them going on sale. Later on Sunday, I went for a wee nap and woke up to find he had released more dates - so cut to me with 4 George Michael tickets for his Sunday night show in Earls Court!!!!! I then spent some frnatic hours on the phone and also organised getting tickets to see Wicked in London whilst we're down to see George. This tale of Gulinda the Good Witch and Elphaba the Wicked Witch of the West before Dorothy arrived with her ruby slippers has torn up Broadway and is coming to the West End. What I found out on Sunday is that Idina Menzel who originated the part of Elphaba on Broadway will reprise her role for the first run in London!!! I listen to the soundtrack on a daily basis, but found this wonderful video of my favourite song from the show. It's the most played song on my iPod and for a reason - it's utterly brilliant. The video has Idina Menzel as Elphaba and Kristin Chenoweth as Gulinda and I can't wait to see the show!
