MOUNT HELENA

I always go for the underdog and have been rooting for Helena in "How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria" which is Andrew Lloyd Webber's revival of The Sound of Music and he bid to find Maria. It came to a head tonight with Helena and Connie. Connie and her fangs and cheery personality won which pissed me off! I wanted Helena to do it and she seemed so gracious in defeat. David wants us to go and see The Sound Of Music when we go to London in November and I might but would have preferred to see Helena belt out Climb Every Mountain. This has fed my hunger for a good old showtune and have been listening to a selection of all sorts from Avenue Q to Sweet Charity to Hairspray to Jesus Christ Superstar and of course, Wicked.

It's all been a bit blah recently - I've been working and am a total career whore. Whatever I end up doing with work, it's going to be a challenge as there's lots of change going on. However there's always a showtune and a dance to do to get my spirits up. I've not even been out much, last night went out for a while
but came home early as it was the same old faces that we saw. Went to the pics during the week and saw Little Miss Sunshine which I'd recommend as it was hilarious and has a cheeky cameo from Gordon Thomson aka Adam Carrington from Dynasty. Aside from copious amounts of Return To Eden which has given me a renewed appreciation of shoulderpads.
