In their place is now Bodies Without Organs. They look like a real bunch of misfits with the hunky cute lead singer, a dull keyboard player and the creator and all round dirty looking pervert but very talented Alexander Bard. They've shorted their name to BWO and have some songs that are as catchy as crabs. I'm slightly obsessed with them right now and highly recommend their electro disco blend of pop. Look out for Chariots of Fire which they say is a take off of Madonna's Like A Prayer but I don't really see it. Unlike Alcazar which was all about the glitterball and glamourama, BWO also do some great pop ballads that have me feeling all dramatic! A perfect slice of pop!
Both Alcazar and BWO have entered Sweden's Melodifestivalen. Their own Song For Europe contest for the Eurovision Song Contest. Alcazar entered with Not A Sinner Nor A Saint and finished 2nd or 3rd a few years ago but the song became Number One in Sweden. BWO did the same last year as they were beaten in the contest but hit Number One with Temple Of Love. Now if that's not enough to get you to listen then I don't know what Eurotastic pop will!!

Nice post. I love Alcazar - got both of their albums. Like you, j'adore "I Go Shopping" - the perfect gay man's anthem I guess and a track that speaks to all of us! I also love "Dancefloor Discotheque" with it's clever Chic sample ("I Go..." also samples them). From their first album I also really like "Paris In The Rain" - another fabulous track with some great lyrics:
Catwalk something Gaultier
Looking sharp in a McQueen
Dior Galliano
Share the glamour of the scene
But seasons have an ending
And the glamour was in vain
Fountains seal the heartache...
...Paris in the rain.
Brilliant!
I saw Alcazar at G.A.Y. with my fella a couple of years ago and they were good fun.
Hope they bring out a new album soon!
And do you remember Army of Lovers?
"Catchy as crabs" - such a delightful simile! I wouldn't know, dearie!
