NYC, WHAT IS IT ABOUT YOU? WELL ROGER AND CHEYENNE REALLY!

Start spreadin the news - I'm baaaaaaccccckkkk!

Got back from New york yesterday and managed to stay awake until later last night when I crashed out for about 12 hours!

London for New Years was good - we went to a beautiful dinner and spent the bells in the restaurant/bar. The food and company were great and had a total riot. The next day, Stewart and I flew to NYC baby (with an 8 hour delay!) We arrived late on but soldiered on out to Splash Bar. Last time I was here, the toilets were full of naughty goings-on which I didn't partake. It was Black/Latin night so Stewart and I walked in being the only white people there. It was fabulous, lots of hot guys bumping and grinding to some awful music!

The next day, we saw XANADU!! With the gorgeous Cheyenne Jackson. Check him out, he's a hottie and super sweet. We met him after the show along with Kerry Butler who played the Olivia Newton John character. The show itself deserves the Tony - simply amazing!

That night we went to the East Village for something to eat and spent some dollars sticking our hands down gogo boys pants and thongs which was nice. Afterwards we went to the infamous Cock. This has changed venue but just as sleazy. I met a guy and took him back to the hotel, when I put the light on, he wasn't as hot as I had once thought so I came and he left! Enough said.

Stewart then went awol for the next morning and afternoon so i went Power Shopping on 5th Avenue. My credit card barely had a chance to breath it was used so frequently. I stocked up on dvd's on sale and clothes. It was heaven! I have enough trashy tv shows and films to last a lifetime. That night we headed to see A Chorus Line which has been a dream of mine since listening to the soundtrack on my first visit to NYC over 10 years ago. The revival was superb. I loved this real Broadway legend of a show. Afterward, Stewart took me to the West Village where I'd never been before. We headed for dinner and then a few bars. My favourite was a bar called The Duplex. It is apparently a bar that a lot of Broadway actors go to unwind and every night, a guy plays the piano and they all jump up and sing (including the bar staff). Now this isn't a normal karakoe night, these guys are super talented. I took some voice recordings on my phone and was blown away. The best part was when barmaid Kelly, sang I Don't Know How To Love Him from Jesus Christ Superstar and the whole bar started singing the chorus with her. Even I managed to sing like a linty!! A great atmosphere and great people made this a special night.

Stewart was awol again the next morning so I offskied to Century 21 and bought enough underwear to keep Calvin Klein and 2xist in business for the next 6 months. Their Clinique range was also dirt cheap so bargains galore. By this point, my kidneys had been in pain from over use and my liver screamed at me a few times so we both said we would take it easy after seeing Wicked and do a small tour round the bars of Hell's Kitchen. This was the craziest night as I don't remember going home and neither does Stewart. I know I was sick and went to bed and woke up next to Stewart. The next day though I wasn't ill in the slightest and managed a massage and manicure and a visit to the Natural History Museum. Saturday I also saw the new Mel Brooks musical Young Frankenstein. It's an all star cast with Roger Bart from Desperate Housewives, Sutton Foster who originated the role of Janet Van De Graaf in The Drowsy Chaperone and Miss Megan Mullally, Karen from Will and Grace. The reviewers have been scathing of the show but the sold out audience loved it and so did I. Very quickwitted and outrageous, it was a total blast. An even bigger blast was actually meeting Roger Bart and Megan Mullally. Megan was nice but a bit quiet. She said she was "super tired" from doing 4 shows in 2 days. I was surprised as she's only in one scene in the 1st half!! Roger Bart was very kind and interested in our holiday. I was almost like "Shut up Roger!!" but a genuinely lovely guy who was so unassuming and grateful. By this time though, my kidneys had packed in so an earlyish night was had and flew back yesterday.

An amazing trip with so many great shows, I loved New York and I am in love with Cheyenne Jackson and Roger Bart
