CIVICS AND AUDIOS

I've been spending this week doing some civic duties so can't discuss what I'm up to however I can reply to Old Cheeser's tag to name my top 10 albums of all time.

He has gone hell for leather into it and dissected 10 classic albums from all fields of pop in the last 4 decades.

I might not be as indepth and it's a bitch to find 10 that I love but I've had a trawl through iTunes and have found 10 of the best and most listened to which must mean they are my favourites or I wouldn't be listening to them in the first place. Right?

10 - BLONDIE - Parallel Lines - Just fabulous

9 - KYLIE - Body Language - Kinda pop, kinda different, very eclectic

8 - BELINDA CARLISLE - Heaven On Earth - An old fave from the 80s - most used cassette I had!

7 - HAIRSPRAY - Broadway Recording - Instantly memorable, just utterly fabulous and catchy

6 - SCISSOR SISTERS - Scissor Sisters - The first and best album - every track even better when played live!

5 - DONNA SUMMER - Live & More Encore - A live album recorded in 1999 of Donna at a greatest hits comeback - voice of the disco generation

4 - ABBA - Voulez Vous - Real disco inspired - every track should have been a single, not a dud amongst them.

3 - WICKED - Broadway Recording - Just fabulous. From "For Good" to "Defying Gravity"

2 - THE SUPREMES - Mary, Scherrie and Susaye - the last album. Diana was long gone and the start of Disco is apparent as they belt out a storming last hurrah

1 - KYLIE - Fever - Just classic. That's all.

Thanks for responding Caress!! You're right, I do know how to go "hell for leather", lol...or I'm a man of too many words, depending on your point of view...

I like your choices and I'm with you on most of them! Surprised to hear that you found it hard to find 10 albums that you love though!

Kylie didn't make my list but she is definitely "up there" - given the choice I would have probably picked "Fever" or "X" as her best album. I've never heard that Donna Summer album - although I'm definitely a Ms Summer fan - might have to give it a go some time! ANd I was actually listening to "Voulez Vous" the other day - you're right, it is the closest to disco that ABBA produced. I love "As Good As New" and "Lovers (Live a Little Longer)" particularly.

Anyway good choices and cheers again matey!
