UNWRAPPED PRESENTS

So Xmas has been and gone. It was very chilled out as with every other year. I headed back to my parents and we watched some really bad tv for a few hours and had a laugh. I went to bed and watched Miss Marple (yes I'm that gay!) and awoke on Xmas morning to my dad blaring out Marni Nixon dubbing for Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady - she could have danced all night but my dad turned the volume up to get us all up. We all rose about 11ish and opened presents and exchanged gifts. It was a really fun day and I did nothing but relax and try and sort out my parent's new mobile phones which my brother and I got for them. It took hours and hours of tinkering until they were happy with everything!

After dinner and some drinks I headed to my friends to see them and then there was a Secret Santa at Jon's. 7 of us decided to do Xmas and then headed out for some sweet Xmas sherries. It was actually not a good move as the city centre was totally dead. We were the only people in the street and it was quite eerie. However, nothing I repeat nothing can keep the gays from going out on any given night and Xmas is exactly the same. The Polo was semi busy with people wearing their new outfits that Santa had delivered. It just seemed a bit bizarre kicking up your heels on Xmas day and I had a sore head so lasted barely an hour before heading home. What followed was the scariest I have felt since being chased by a dog when I was 8. I stuck the iPod in and headed home thinking I could flag a taxi. There were no taxis so I walked and didn't pass a person or a car for about fifteen of my twenty minute journey home. It was like something out of a scary movie. I expected the Scream mask to pop round the corner and I'd be Rose McGowan or Drew Barrymore running like a crazy big nippled victim trying to escape. I got home in one piece and clambered into bed after another good Xmas.

Yesterday I played Mother to Jon, Jon and David as they lay about like lazy slobs whilst I cooked lunch and snacks and more cups of tea than at the local church service. It was a very chilled out day and eventually my headache went away after more than 24 hours! I spent last night singing showtunes and watching musicals on dvd. If anybody has ever seen The Drowsy Chaperone where Bob Martin sits in his cardigan listening to records of his favourite musicals or watching performances on TV, well that was me last night and a what a fabulous night it was!!

Now in keeping with unwrapping presents, here's a picture of Dale from this year's Big Brother show. He was a bit of a twat on the show but I must say he he looks like a little slice of heaven...... So for some Xmas goodwill, I'm willing his towel to drop!
