MELROSE REPLACE & MODELS INC PLUS

Two new shows are starting on the CW network in the USA this September. The new fall season starts with some even more juicy rivals to Gossip Girl and the new 90210. 90210's original spin off, Melrose Place is back and is being called imaginatively, Melrose Place. It has a few stars in it - No Heather Locklear - she passed on it. I'm unsure if that was wise as what has Heather done since Spin City except break up with Richie Sambora, hook up with Jack Wagner and get done for drink driving? If the show flops, Heather's made a smart move but apparently, the producers would LOVE Heather to whip on her best micro skirt, grab that briefcase and buy the apartment complex once again as Amanda Woodward. They have managed to weed out Thomas Calabro as Michael Mancini, Josie Bissett as Jane Mancini, Daphne Zuniga as Jo Reynolds and somehow Laura Leighton as Sydney. Sydney was one of my favourite Melrose minxes and I'm not ruining too much as Sydney died at the end of season 5 and guess what?? Within the first 5 minutes, we discover Sydney to be dead again in the pool of the apartment complex. Apparently, Laura Leighton's Sydney will appear throughout the season in flashbacks and we find out how she managed to fake her death and then buy the complex again!! Sounds like a job for Amanda Woodward to be honest, only she could pull off something this wild. I would personally like to know how dead Sydney managed to get the apartment complex from Lexi Sterling who owned it at the end of the shows original run - maybe that will be revealed. We also have the very blah Ashlee Simpson and various other sluts and hunks heating up the pool at 4616 Melrose Place - I await this with excitement - part of the charm of the original Melrose was that it was camp and outlandish but the good characters of Jake and Billy and even drunk Alison kept it grounded whilst Kimberly blew up buildings, Sydney fought in the pool and Amanda ruled the roost with an iron fist and tight skirts - I hope this one delivers just as well!!



The next show premiering is The Beautiful Life which should be called Models Inc Plus as it's just almost that spin off from Melrose Place about the modelling industry from the mid nineties with Linda Gray and Emma Samms. Instead of Linda running an agency, you have real live Supermodel Elle MacPherson and a new host of hunks and beauties and bitches. They've got a Brit to play the bitch which always works in a catty show about models. It's all flashing bulbs and lots of male skin as we see 2 rising stars in modelling and the over the hill model - the fabulously named Sonya Stone, played by tabloid's favourite little junkie, Mischa Barton. Mischa was recently sectioned under a mental health act - maybe the scripts were so awful she actually went mental or maybe the storyline of pill popping stunning model Sonya was a little too close to home. Whatever, I will be watching especially after the trailer had the Brit Bitch say to the new model as she went out on the catwalk "Break a Heel" My tights and fabulous wardrobe can barely cope with the fabulousness of this show!
