SUFFERING STEEL

Due to my deep thinking the past few days I decided that the best thing to do was have a good cry. So last night before getting ready to go out I put on 'Steel Magnolias' on DVD. This film proves that my tear ducts are too close to my bladder because I blubbed for a good half hour before the movie finishes. This release felt good and I'm getting back to rights although I am tempted to watch 'Imitation of Life' for another weep fest but I'll try and control that urge and just put on 'Heathers'!

Whilst watching this movie, most people can identify with characteristics of one of the women. I for example am undoubtedly Shirley Maclaine's Ouiser Boudreaux. David is Olympia Dukakis with a hint of Dolly Parton - and no, I'm not alking about her ample breasts! Jon is Darryl Hannah when she becomes slightly whorish, Stewart has to be Sally Field cos he likes to think of himself as the grounded one and Cameron is the wistful and wishful Julia Roberts. It's the same with 'Sex and the City' I'm soooo Miranda (I think) and as for 'Desperate Housewives' I have to be Bree Van De Kamp for my cleanliness.

Cam, Jon and I went out last night for a last hurrah as the New Year penny piching kicks in and so we whooped it up and got rather merry. Penfold was out last night and was getting a bit touchy feely again, not as much as Rob Wandering Palms - whenever he walks toward us I have to say "Prepare to be touched girls!" He is a real sweetie though whereas Michael aka Penfold tries to be bitchy when it really doesn't suit him. I think Jon and my old neighbour Steven are actually in lust with each other though won't admit it. I bumped into Alastair who dumped me via text message and gave him a polite 'hi, how are you?' without waiting for a reply and also saw the guy that I screwed on my recent venture to Blackpool. Kinda like the ex-fucks club!

I have decided that I am actually quite a nice person sometimes!! Cameron was pissed and wanted to throw an empty pack of fags at Alastair across the dancefloor for ditching me but I managed to contain him, Jon later remarked that I was a cow on the outside but inside I'm a bit too soft - I think this is soooo true kinda like Shirley Maclaine from 'Steel Magnolias'! All this soulsearching pullava can be a bit of a strain so I'm going to chill out and maybe head to the sauna tomorrow to get my nasties.

I added a counter to the blog which has surprised me as someone (at least one!) has been accessing the page quite a bit - this is all good cos sometimes I think I write this and no-one reads. Jon and David said that they like reading my take on nights out and events that happen so just for that I'm gonna overload on all the camp trash TV, music and movies!! What a bitch.
