DOGS CHASING PATSY

I'm a fan of any actress who's been through the mill and managed to come out the other side and be a success - it's a bit like when Bette Davis resurrected her career with 'All About Eve' and then 12 years later with 'Whatever Happened To Baby Jane?'

On a less grand but no less camp is the case of Patsy Kensit. She's a blonde British actress who starred as a child in The Great Gatsby and later as Mel Gibson's doomed lover in Lethal Weapon 2. Patsy married Jim Kerr from Simple Minds and even fancied herself as a bit of a popstar by fronting 80s band Eighth Wonder. They had a few hits and did well when paired up with the Pet Shop Boys for 'I'm Not Scared' Anyone who hasn't heard Patsy cooing in French and complaining about dogs chasing her has to listen to this pop gem immdeiately. In the 90s Patsy was married/kicking about with Liam Gallagher from my least favourite band of all time, Oasis. She had another child by him who was also afflicted with his father's monobrow. Patsy drank and smoked and no doubt snorted cocaine off Kate Moss' tits and was firmly ensconced in the Primrose Hill and Britpop set.

Eventually the romance fizzled out and poor Patsy found herself subsidising her lifestyle by appearing constantly in Hello and OK! magazines. Then last year, she took the part of Sadie King in long running soap 'Emmerdale'. The part was perfect for Botoxed to the max Patsy and she made a huge impression as superbitch Sadie, so much so that she's also appeared in spoof show Bo Selecta! where she plays herself being chased by wannabe lesbian Mel B from the Spice Girls. It has to be seen to be believed! Patsy is a bit of a star but it wasn't until Michael Parkinson interviewed her recently and she came across as a genuinely lovely gal who was enjoying her new found success - kind of like when Joan Collins enjoyed success with the role of Alexis in Dynasty.

Patsy always looks glam and she's forever fighting with the other characters in Emmerdale, slapping faces and sleeping around have made her absolutely fabulous!

I really like Oasis- I love loud, yet apathetic rock, and Oasis has perfected that to a 'T'. I will, however, agree that the Gallagher brothers are complete douchebags and that their bickering is so childish and tired.

I liked Patsy in 'Angels and Insects'. did you see it?
