COLD HARD CASH

I'm currently fascinated by the maddest program I've seen in a long time. Spendaholics focuses on people who have gone a bit mad and spent shitloads of money and are spiralling out of control. I've seen similar shows in the past but this is far more severe - there's a financial coach and life coach who get to the nitty gritty reasons behind why some silly buggers spend a small fortune on personal trainers, luxury lunches, clothes and nights out on the piss.

This week's cause is Colin. He goes for weekends away a lot, spends £800 on an average week at work and at play. £4000 a year on personal trainers. He didn't even know that bread can be sliced. He has a phobia about stairs aswell which is being attributed to him being bullied as a child so Colin and his psychologist head back to his old school and confront his fears along with telling his mother the truth about his debt and demons from the past. It seems a bit severe but I think it works although maybe it's just a chance for him to wallow in self pity. Colin's also got trouble with thinking he's a failure to his parents for being gay but he does manage to pull his socks up and save money at the same time as feeling better about being a 'mo. Hurrah!!!!

It's sad how many people are in serious credit card debt. I just use cash, except for paying for/booking hotels when I'm away. That way, I see how much I'm spending. Credit cards are so common ;)
