WOULD THE REMAINING GIRLS PLEASE STEP FORWARD

I've just been watching Britain's Next Top Model. The host is Lisa Butcher. Who? You might ask. Well she's got nice cheekbones and a pointy nose and a rather monotne dead voice. She's also nowhere near as exciting as Tyra 'what is wrong which you sista' Banks. Lisa's stern and warns the girls to work on their look as they're running out of chances whereas Tyra snaps her finger and demands some attitude. Lisa tried to show emotion last week as she booted a wannabe model out but she recovered well so her makeup didn't run being the amazing professional that she is!

It's all rather cheapened in the UK with no Janice Dickinson. Britain uses 'the beautiful' Marie Helvin who is of slight Asian persuasion and they missed out the botox part of her description I can't tell if she's happy or sad. She wears her hair in pig tails all the time and twiddles her glasses like a primary school teacher unhappy with her pupils. The girls themselves are a rather non - event to be honest. I've seen better looking in the local spit and sawdust pub but the show is similar to the American version in being completely addicitive. It does look as though the producers spent the majority of the budget on the opening credits as poor Lisa and the judges are in a pretty shoddy looking studio for the elimination and the girls tend to have the same photographer. They also manage to do some very very tacky shoots with nothing of the glamour of our American counterparts. One girl had poor skin on a shoot so rather than retouch it, they just let the blemishes show - I would've been able to clear her skin on my laptop program - it's just shoddy! But always fabulous.
