A DIFFERENT NIGHT

Well it's less than 3 weeks to go before my trip to London to see Wicked and then George Michael. I'm so excited, rooms and flights all sorted. Julia has booked a table at a restaurant in Covent Garden when we arrive and no doubt we will end up at Camp Attack at G-A-Y for some disco disco 80s Stock Aiteken and Waterman revival nonsense. Before that though, I have a mountain of work to get through and squeeze in a weekend in edinburgh next week and a trip to see Cats.

I'm making a conscious effort to do things other than go out on the lash on a Saturday. The past few weeks, we've gone to the comedy club for Glasgay and I'd love to try some new nights out on the town. There was a night on Friday at Burly which I should've gone to to get my little bit of rough trade and yesterday was Utter Gutter. It's an arty/fashionista wannabe crowd who dress up and pretend to be fabulous except looking like the dregs of a bottle of Lambrini. Think Party Monster and you have a fair idea of the crowd.

I may be really sad and dull and heading toward thirty as tonight I am planning on watching Planet Earth - a BBC documentary on "Planet Earth" - they showed 5 episodes earlier in the year and it was fantastic and another 6 are being screened again starting tonight. Now I know I'm not of pensionable age but Sunday night with my slippers watching Emperor Penguins or cheetahs makes for fascinating viewing.

It's a disctinct possibility that I am actually turning into my parents. We went to a wedding the other week and Julia was my plus one. In the taxi afterward, she was laughing as she said I behave just like my mum. That's just not cricket!
