The run up to Xmas has been terribly terribly. Today I went for a gorgeous lunch with Cameron and Jon. It was a real festive delight and the setting of the glamourous Princes Square with one of my favourite bar/restaurants in the city, Zinc, made it all just a bit fabulous.
We chatted and drank, Jon's just back from New York the bitch that he is! I'm now on holiday from work until next Wednesday and it made such a change this morning from waking up to my alarm of the Sugababes song "Easy". Instead I awoke without any disturbance and in my own time - it was bliss! I've been spoiled recently with some great food and company. I went for a Xmas lunch with my work and in our Secret Santa, somebody very kindly bought me a genuine riding crop. I felt just like Joan Crawford in the scene of Queen Bee where she destroys the room with one as her rage builds. Then on Tuesday night, I had a fantastic meal with my family, we celebrated Xmas a bit early as my brother is heading to Australia for on Saturday. I drank great wine and ate amazing food in a small restaurant - the service was unbelievably good and it made a change from the rushed usual Xmas fayre that is dished out at nights at this time of year.
I'm gutted at Emma Bunton being knocked out of Strictly Come Dancing and she deserved to be in the final but I'm rooting for Mark Ramprakash and his amazing professional partner Miss Karen Hardy. She's a tough taskmaster but was an amazing competitive dancer and so has my vote now to win. Then last night I saw the end of Bad Girls, my favourite prison drama. It ended with a Xmas special. Sylvia Hollamby was a Scrooge like character and cancelled Christmas on G Wing. However, with a strange smell infesting the prison and a rotted hand appearing in the toilet meant that the two Julies had to head down to the sewers to fix the blockage which was of course, the rotting corpse of the evil inmate Natalie Buxton. As for Natalie, she appeared to Sylvia in a dreamlike sequence as the ghost of Christmas and herded her around her sorry life. Sylvia awoke just like Scrooge and became a semi changed woman - thanks to my favourite bad girl, Natalie Buxton!
Now in the next few days I have plans to sit back, relax and enjoy some rest with maybe a jaunt to the sauna and definitely am going to watch my new favourite seasonal movie. The Man Who Came To Dinner. It's Monty Woolley, Ann Sheridan and Miss Bette Davis in a winter comedy treat. I'll report in the next few days...
