I turned 28 last week and it passed like a drunken ship in the night. I had planned a birthday dinner with some of my nearest and dearest. My friends had all been summoned for a dinner although beforehand I had visions of Carrie Bradshaw in Sex And The City when she goes for her birthday dinner and no-one shows up. Jon had said he had to dash off to Germany, David was in Brighton, Debs didn't know if her other half was coming and Julia was going to see a house first with her boyfriend. I was half in the mood for cancelling it all and sitting in with a birthday cake and sob. However, it went rather well. Cameron got caught in work but everyone else attended and it was a fabulous meal with the wine and chat flowing freely. Nothing beats spending time with close friends, just talking shit and laughing which I did a lot of.
After dinner, we headed to Jon's for more drinks and somehow I ended up dancing til 4am - on Friday I wasn't worth a button, I wasn't a shell of a woman, I barely was a sh.....
Friday was a rough day in work with a few trips to the toilet and do the whole Karen Carpenter/Princess Di fingers down the throat job - only a quick McDonald's did the trick to perk me up. Friday night was another birthday dinner - this time with the parents and it was as lovely as the other one with my friends.
Over the weekend I got rather drunk and kissed a guy. You remember that guy who was a child prodigy antiques dealer from the Wogan show years ago who has now become a woman. Well this story isn't going where you think it is but the guy I snogged had a very similar voice. It was a total let down - he seemed quite hot and hard but when he opened up his mouth it made my hardon soften instantly - he also actually kissed my teeth a bit and bit my tongue - bad voice and bad kisser does not a good partner make.
Now I've got a fortnight off - I'm heading to London and Brighton this week and am soooooo excited, it'll be booze filled and hopefully a few capers thrown in for good measure - I only hope I son't bump into the tranny antiques dealer from Wogan or that would send me right over the edge!
