STAND ON THE WHITE LINE LATHAM
The photo above shows one of my favourite women behind bars. She was in the original episodes of Prisoner Cell Block H and returned on various occasions as troublemaker and tart - Chrissie Latham.
Chrissie was banged up for who knows what at the start of the show and was most infamous for killing Bill Jackson with a pair of scissors in the big prison riot. She was found out after Bea scalped Chrissie and made her confess. Chrissie then disappeared but like the proverbial bad penny she returned in her slutty high heels or wedges and big blousy hair. Chrissie was causing trouble in her first return and turned out to be pregnant - she flirted a fair bit with sexy sneaky lesbian Sharon Gilmore, much to the chagrin of Judy Bryant her lover. So Chrissie got her knickers in all sorts of a twist when she had baby Elizabeth - she finally got out but it wasn't long before she was ensconced a few times after that. Chrissie ended up befriending Bea and was generally a good egg. She had a cheeky cockney accent and had the tightest denim possible at all times. Her trousers were custom tight and denim jackets fitted to within an inch of her life.
Chrissie was involved in the great fire at Wentworth and naturally flirted with the men when they were shipped out to Woodridge Prison. Deemed as too much of a troublemaker, she got shipped out to Barnhurst prison never to be seen again.
Amanda Muggleton played the part for kicks and tongue definitely in cheek. Her presence lit up the screen and as soon as she appeared, strife and drama were sure to ensue. Since then, Amanda has milked her time as one of Wentworth's most popular inmates. She's also been appearing on extras on the dvd's that are being released of the show. A big addition to the show and to viewers! Chrissie - we love you!!!!

I remember when Big Joanie set right about her, "God damn you Latham, you made me lose my temper!"
Brilliant!
Yeah the scene when Joan kicked the sh*t out of Chrissie was actually pretty unpleasant to watch, from what I remember. She was a rather two-dimensional but nevertheless entertaining character. A shame she didn't come back after disappearing to Woodridge, like Helen Smart and some of those other characters she had definite dramatic mileage.
She also used to sometimes wear denim skits slit up the side as well didn't she? Liked showing a bit of leg, old Chrissie...
Did you ever see Amanda Muggleton in the short-lived "Richmond Hill"? (Also starring the Freak and several other Prisoner actors...)
