Yesterday I turned 29. Not 30. I'm almost wishing I was turning 30 as it would be more to celebrate and a bigger deal as we're all off to New York for our 30th next year.
Yesterday was great - I had had dinner with the family on Friday night which was very civil and relaxed. I managed to go out with Jon, Jon and Cameron afterwards and drank too many shots so when I woke up on Saturday I was still rather drunk.
I headed to the post office as I had a few packages waiting to get picked up and what a birthday treat I had in store. Bette Davis' new dvd collection with some great titles was delivered and a new book by Boze Hadleigh on Broadway. I grabbed some brekkie and watched one of the movies that will DEFINITELY be in my Camp Movie Countdown.
After that, I had a long snooze for a few hours and tidied the flat as friends were coming round for drinks. We had a few sherries and then 9 of us had dinner at a local restaurant. The food and service was excellent and I had a great time with all my friends having a laugh. Then we all headed to Polo for some dancing and drinking and socializing. We met up with other friends and eventually all ended up at Jon Jon's talking nonsense for a few hours.
A fabulous night and such a chilled out day although I was on edge a bit as I wanted everyone to enjoy themselves and have a nice meal, the wine with dinner really helped to ease the way. It was good to have most of my closest friends and that's what made my birthday so memorable.
So now I'm 29, my last day of chilling means I can watch some more Bette Davis and blog a bit. I've made a small resolution to eat more healthily and excercie so I have one last big night on Friday and then it's detox for a while until Paris. Those vodkas and orange that I drink can't help much when trying to stay slim!
