GOUTEEAY AND THE TALE OF ONE CITY

I put the X in exhausted yesterday after a 4 day break in Gay Gay Paris. C'etait Magnifique from start to finish.

I showed Jon around Montmartre and had some lovely dinners. We saw Notre Dame, the Champs Elysees, L'Arc de Triomphe and more cafe's than in Allo Allo which wouldn't be hard really considering there was only Cafe Rene in Allo Allo but there were literally gazillions in Paris - yes gazillions.

I loved Paris when I went 2 years ago and I loved it even more this time. For a start, the weather was far more agreeable than the freezing January conditions last time, the men seemed far hotter and you can't smoke internally in Paris now which is just heaven.

We also managed a jaunt to Disneyland Paris - I went with school when it opened in 1992 and then returned on Monday - I was a bit sceptical but after a while I was more than hooked. I went on my first ever rollercoaster at the age of 29 and then went on about 6 more. The adrenalin was pumping and it was fabulous. A great day out although Jon lost his wallet on one of the rides - it didn't take long to have his mood lifted though - the magic kingdom really is magic. I felt guilty for swearing or making rude jokes incase Goofy came and arrested me and sent me to Disney prison. The whole day was superb though and I'd recommend it to anyone. On Tuesday, we also caught Kylie's opening night of her XTour 2008 at the Bercy Stadium. We were within spitting distance of Miss Minogue, despite queuing for about 2 hours in the searing heat before getting in. The tickets were for standing and everyone clamoured for the front and then promptly marked their spot by sitting down so no-one could take their patch.

Paris is great for people watching and we spotted Matthew Horne from The Catherine Tate Show looking decidedly pissed and David Tennant himself was whooping it up. He was well into Miss Minogue and looked very chilled out. He looks like the type of guy who buys his clothes at Top Man and is comfortable with that. It was bizarre as Jon and I were in hog heaven with these celeb sightings, the crowd didn't even aknowledge Dr Who with it being France but they went seriously apeshit for Gouteeay.

You have to say it like it's spelled to get the full je ne sais quoi. Goutteeay was in fact Jean Paul Gaultier, the famed French couturier who designed Kylie's wardrobe for the show. His entourage arrived and they were all old or looked like Gouteeay himself. He smiled for pics and if the lights hadn't gone down for the start of the show, I'm convinced he might still be there taking photos. Kylie's ex Olivier Martinez was also there looking very very dishy. I wonder if they're getting back together.............

We flew back yesterday after a fun filled 4 days and I think I converted Jon into loving Paris as much as I do. Next on the list is Miss Liza Minnelli next month and then finally Kylie's tour arrives in Glasgow the month after that. I do need to plan another wee break away to Gran Canaria or something though............... or maybe Paris to see if Gouteeay is still wowing the crowds.

Sounds like you had a fab time in gay Paree and pretty action-packed too. My fella and I actually plan to go there for his birthday next month, all being well. Interesting to hear that Disneyland Paris was a good experience - not my kind of thing but my hubbie likes it. If you can recommend it though it might just be worth checking out!

And I can't believe you spotted all those famous people including the Doctor himself! You are a celebrity magnet obviously. Don't know where I'm going wrong...

But yes, we want pics!!

Seeing Kylie myself in July and v. excited! Costumes pics from the tour look good.
