OK, you have to stop what you're doing and get your ass online and watch Gossip Girl. This show is just too fabulous - it's doing for the noughties what Dynasty and Melrose Place dis for the eighties and nineties. It even has stars from old Spelling/Darren Star shows. Kelly Rutherford, trampy old Megan the hooker from Melrose is Lily Van Der Woodsen, rich divorcee in Manhattan and also Madchen Amick, Carrie Fairchild from CPW is doing a 4 episode stint as Duchess Catherine Beaton.
The twists and turns are fabulous - I couldn't resist and watched the first episode online in September but then weaned myself off somehow to watch when it showed on TV here. It's been 3/4 months of torture and depriving myself of a seriously guilty pleasure.
Now thankfully, the show is airing every Wednesday night and it's an hour of heaven with more plot twists and rebound roulette than a teen magazine. The clothes are fabulous, the cast are gorgeous and everyone is so deliciously camp.
I'm hearing rumours that Blair and Serena get so desperate that they have no option but to hire their hated enemy Georgina Sparks to help them on a mission of destruction. This certifies the fact that Michelle Trachtenberg returns at the end of season 2 in USA.
On top of this, my best dressed male award goes to the delicious Ed Westwick as Chuck Bass - he wears tweed, scarves, bright clashing patterns and is definitely dandy in dress style that it's too good for words - one scene tonight had him in crisp pyjamas and fetching smoking jacket - all ready for bed. His hair is stunning and has cheekbones that could cut glass. More on Ed on another post as this one is dedicated to Madchen Amick - one of my all time favourite TV bitches. Although it's only for 4 episodes, I'd love to see her return for more escapades and wreak some Duchess Beaton style havoc into the lives of the cast of Gossip Girl! Especially with beautful dresses like the one above!
