I've become a gym bunny. I can't stay away this weather - I hit the gym 5 times last week and did a weights class and then yoga tonight. I can't get too much into yoga just now and found it quite difficult but I might stick with it to see how flexible I can get. I keep on exhaling when I should be inhaling and the whole downward facing dog thing makes my arms shake or want to fart. The gym is still full of people who will jack it in in 3 weeks and it's a bitch to get a locker - I don't think there are over 200 guys in my gym at any one time but nearly every locker was being used tonight when I went in.
I'm actually quite glad I did the yoga as it meant I could chill out a bit. I know it's only been one day into the working week but today was quite stressful. I'm definitely trying to relax more after work and not get so caught up in everything work related. I find myself lying in bed at night thinking about the next day in work and results and things I want to achieve and that has to stop. One thing I've learned over the past few months is that I do need to shut up shop at 5pm when I stop working otherwise I could go on and on getting stressed - and what does stress bring?? Wrinkles!! And let me tell you, I'm smothering on the Clinique normally so I dread to think what I'd look like if I had the weight of my working world on my shoulders all the time.
Because of the gym classes and time spent busting my buns, I've been sweating like crazy and have washed more towels and knickers than a Chinese laundry in the past week. I only hope that the hard work kicks in and pays off in the coming weeks. Tonight was also the first time I got a buzz out of lifting some weights. I was totally energised and high after the class. I'd increased the weight slightly and really felt the burn although it helped that there was a wee hottie with a well fit body working out too.
Now I know I'm a real Johnny Come Lately sometimes but I've only just got into Pink's song "So What" This has been out for months but normally anything that lez sings does my box in because all the lesbians in Polo start kicking up their trainers and swing their chunky keys to it. What got me thinking about it was actually my dear mother. She just loves it and last week when she was driving, she turned it up and starting doing some shoulder moves professing her love for the song. The only other song that's gotten a similar reaction from my mother is the Scissor Sister's "I Don't Feel Like Dancin". At any function or night I've been at with the parentals, that is the song that always gets my mum busting some more moves than the shoulder ones reserved for car journeys.
