Last night I changed my ways and went out. It was the first Saturday night I had been out all of 2009.
I had a session with my personal trainer in the afternoon and we were chatting and I said I felt like a boring fuck because I'm turning 30 and not going out. He said he thought I was a party boy deep down and so last night I decided to kick up my heels and went to Death Disco at The Arches with my mate Stewart and some of his pals. To say it was a mental night would be an understatement and I'm not sure if my sore legs today are from the heavy squats I was doing with my trainer or from all the dancing I did. Other than that, Cameron and I headed out to the flicks the night before and caught Confessions Of A Shopaholic. I've not been a fan of Isla Fisher since her days as annoying Shannon in Home and Away but I must say, stick her in a designer dress, make her goofy with physical comedy and you have a winner. The movie had some real laugh out loud moments and Hugh Dancy was simply dashing as the male lead. Isla brightened up my night - as did the dresses (of which there were hundreds)
The club was pretty quiet for a Saturday night but the music was immense and we were all busting some good shapes. One of the girls who was with us got completely smashed and could barely walk straight. She's from Aberdeen so I guess they get out less than myself!
To be honest, it's been great on my bank balance this month. Staying in a bit, less boozing and going to the gym 4 or 5 times a week have meant I've eaten healthier foods and not binged on takeaway for weeks. My diet could still be better but it's going in the right direction.
Working with my personal trainer has also been a godsend. I am officially obsessed with all things fitness. I get a real buzz from it all and although at times I feel like I could throw up over him from the way he works me - I am starting to feel the benefits. He did say it will take months for me to see my body change shape but I am loving going and have far more energy than I've had in years.
I guess one big blow out every so often is good for you. Mine was last night and it's back on the treadmill tomorrow to work my ass off and improve on this body of mine. I have London in a month and then New York 2 months after that so plenty of time to push myself further and get healthier! A girl's gotta have a dream of a tight body and less body fat!!
