The campest band ever known to man, woman or beast release their new album next week. Alcazar, those Swedish icons of all things glittery, disco and camp release Disco Defenders!
It's fabulous as all of Alcazar's music tends to have great Eurobeat disco music, sometimes sampling and always very tongue in cheek. They've gone through a few incarnations with Andreas, Tess and Annikafiore - then Andreas' boyfriend Magnus joined and he had camp hair. Then they disbanded for a while and have now returned with Andreas, Tess and new girl Lina. The above picture is the new album cover and it's got me super excited!
I've already heard 3 of the tracks in full as 2 have been released and the new one "Stay The Night" is currently in the final of Sweden's entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. Every year, Melodifestivalen causes a near riot and is always as popular as the UK's X Factor.
Pet Shop Boys and Anders Hansson have helped write the new album and I can just imagine a big disco ball exploding when I play it on repeat (which I will!)

Looks great - thanks for alerting us to the new album Caress! I liked the last album a lot - Dancefloor Docusoap and I Go Shopping were two of my fave tracks on that one. Also saw them performing at G.A.Y. and they were fab!
