FUNNIES

Just sorted out accomodation for Blackpool this weekend. Jon David and Scott went to Gran Canaria on Saturday with Julia and her lover Steven so Cam, Stewart and myself are going to venture south for few nights and taste that salty air and saltier spunk theat the boys in Blackpool have!

One of the highlights of any trip to Blackpool will be a night at the infamous "Funny Girls". This is a drag revue/cabaret/showbar that has to be seen to be believed. It moved a few years ago to an old theatre house and is now a spangly camp outrage on the Lancashire coast - Joan Collins opened up the new building! Strangely enough the main clientele is hetty. Hundreds of hen nights etc although all the performers and bar staff and tranny tastic and dragged up to the max. Master of ceremonies is cheeky but utterly divine DJ Zoe. This blonde queen spits venom at the audience and whips them into a frenzy whilst the cast get changed and they all love it. She's highly entertaining to say the least not to mention her fringing and gives a cheekier nod to the gays in the crowd



Star of Funnies is Miss Betty Legs Diamonds. Legs is an understatement when it comes to this Amazonian as her/his legs stretch all the way up to her carefully shaven armpits!



Now this isn't a seedy bar or anything tacky. The dancers at Funnies are ridiculously talented and actually put on an amazing show and still find the humour in the musical showstoppers. I told Jillian in my work I was going and she mentioned Funny Girls and the night she went to Blackpool her boyfriend took her to the show and after it got down on one knee and proposed! Now if that's not an advert enough for going - I don't know what is!
