I simply must - the last time I reported, I planned on a quiet weekend before Xmas watching Bette Davis in The Man Who Came To Dinner. Well the next afternoon, I phoned up my friend Jon to see what he was up to the weekend before Xmas and lo and behold, he was heading off with my other pal David to Manchester for the weekend. Apparently it's a tradition they have and needless to say, within the hour I was packed and joined them in the car on a journey to Manchester to get royally pissed and be typical Northern birds and not wear a jacket all weekend.
It was actually rather fabulous - the best weekends/nights are the ones unplanned or have no strict schedule which I have to say, I love working to aswell. Anyway, we arrived, I grabbed a bite to eat and we went out drinking and dancing until the wee small hours. The next day, I planned on getting in some last minute Xmas shopping. It was actually pretty painless with very few queues and I got the goods I was looking for (not vibrators or anal beads but perfume and gift sets for the family!)
Jon and David were lightweight ho's and stayed in bed all day Saturday - Saturday night we saw the very talented and very very drunk Nicki French regale a bar with various high energy versions of songs for a good hour or so. Her signature song Total Eclipse Of The Heart played on for what seemed like an hour and she was constantly telling us to "turn around". After that, I was well on my way and headed off to the sauna for some drunken nocturnal fun. It was mobbed at 2 in the morning with a nice variety of men. I was majorly hammered so chilled out in the jacuzzi. I came out of my drunken haze to discover that the hot chavvy guy beside me had stuck a cock ring on me! Talk about the season for giving and receiving! I was thrilled and showed it off a bit before getting steamed in literally to a fair few guys to satisfy my quench for cock.
We got home the next day and I didn't have a hint of tiredness in me on Xmas Eve and even managed to head out dancing for a while with Cameron and Rod who had come up from London for Xmas. Xmas day was a mega chilled out day - I slept more today than I have all year. It was quiet as my brother is away in Australia but I got some nice surprises and went overboard on the camp DVDs etc. I was supposed to go out on Xmas Day but couldn't face it as I was so relaxed but took some comfort watching Faye Dunaway tearing up the screen and a rose bush in Mommie Dearest with commentary and documentaries to keep me interested in this camp extravaganza.
Nothing prepared me for yesterday when through my letterbox arrived some dolls. Not china dolls but real dolls - from the 2 disc Valley!!!
Valley Of The Dolls came in as a 2 disc special edition with all kinds of campy extras like a karaoke version of the soundtrack with a pill bouncing over the words on screen. Documentaries and interviews with fans of the film and 2 of the girls, Barbara Parkins and even scenery chewing Neely O'Hara played by Patty Duke. Along with that, I'd gone camp crazy before Xmas and had a live event DVD ordered of a show at the Castro Theatre, one with Barbara Parkins discussing Valley of The Dolls and her career and also one with Christina Crawford at Xmas. If that was too much High Camp to cope with, I also got Joan Rivers, Dame Edna and Wonder Woman DVD's to watch through - enough material to last me a while on this blog!!
Happy Xmas and New Year and cos I 've got a big nose and am tight with my cash - Happy Hannukah!!
