I've now recovered from a heavy Friday night drinking. I tanked it big style and was doing straight vodka shots thanks to my friend David which caused me to vomit them back up - yes I am THAT classy.
We all had a hoot and a half - it also helped that the DJ was from a fabulous club in Manchester called Poptastic that does a night once a month in Glasgow. Jon's gotten to know the DJ so he played all our favourite tracks and we danced our asses off til closing. I ended up yet again with some random guy's jacket who got it back eventually. I decided that I'm not venturing out again until Jon's birthday next week so will be off the sauce til then and then it's Paris which is wine all the way!
Staying in on Saturday was ok and went to my friend Julia's for a restful night so that on Sunday morning I could hit step class which I did and loved it!!!! It felt strange not wake up with a dry mouth and a hangover on a Sunday morning and I felt great after the major workout I had. I was given some vouchers for my 29th birthday so bought the first season of the Glenn Close drama "Damages" on dvd and I must say it's excellent.
Damages is described as The Devil Wears Prada with lawyers. But it's so much more than that. Glenn Close is amazing as Patty Hewes, the corrupt evil lawyer determined to bring down the corrupt evil Ted Danson character. It starts off with a young woman running down the streets of NYC with blood all over her and the action jumps back 6 months earlier to reveal she is a hotshot lawyer who works for Glenn Close and dealing with a case that involves her soon to be sister in law and the Ted Danson character. Basically, the acting and writing are as addictive as those 7 seasons I spent hooked on The West Wing and I can't wait to see more. I'm damaged!
